Futuristic Crisis Committee

For millennia, ancient Greek gods and goddesses have convened on Mount Olympus to socialize, contest, and decide the fate of Greece and its mortals. As Hades, minor gods, and lesser mythical beings grow tired of Olympus’ hierarchical power structure, rumours and stirrings from deep within the depths of Tartarus challenge Zeus and his kingdom once again.

The FCC is a committee suited for experienced delegates but is open to all those wishing to challenge the boundaries of their abilities. Delegates passionate about Greek mythology, or those willing to learn are equally encouraged. Positions papers are mandatory and are required in order to be considered for an award. Please direct all inquiries and position papers for this committee to fcc1@vymun.ca.

Jason Zhang

A current sophomore at West Point Grey Academy, Jason J. Zhang is honoured to serve as the director of FCC for this year's Vancouver Youth Model United Nations. Since joining his first MUN conference on a whim two years ago, he's been entranced in the fast-paced world of politics and has attended every conference available. Now, standing as a MUN staff, Jason will do his best to spark the same passion for the subtle art of diplomacy within the delegates of FCC and make VYMUN 2022 the best iteration yet! Outside of MUN, Jason can be found reading the works of renowned authors, trying (and often failing) to predict stock market booms and absorbing copious amounts of coffee. He is looking forward to meeting all of you in October and hearing some godly debates!

Juliette Levy-Gay

A grade 11 student at WPGA, Juliette could not be more excited to be the chair of the Fictional Crisis Committee at VYMUN 2022. Juliette has been involved in Model UN since grade 8 and has now participated in 7 Model UN conferences, this being the 3rd at which she has been a part of the dais team. In all the thrills of Model UN, Juliette most enjoys the opportunity to connect with other high school students, as well as learning more about current global affairs. Outside of school, she loves to spend her time with her friends, go thrift shopping, and do arts and crafts projects. Juliette is looking forward to a memorable and engaging conference, at which she hopes to be an incredible chair and enrich the experience of all delegates.
